Return to top What is unique about the Waterbridge
Plate Warmer?
Where shall we begin?
We use high quality heavy weight 100% cotton from F.W. Schumacher with
Waverly patterns, most of which are tweed designs versus print patterns.
We don't use polyester or inferior blends of cotton for our slipcovers.
Each plate warmer is covered and packaged in an award-winning gift giving
design that decoratively displays the beautiful fabric slipcover.
A durable plastic zipper bag is provided for safe storage. (We won't send
you unprotected plate warmer in a brown box!)
The folds of the heating pad are evenly spaced to ensure consistent heating
across the surface of each plate.
The seams of our heating pad are pressure heat sealed and stamped
versus stitched for better durability and long-term performance.
The fabric slipcover is sewn and closed at one end to safely to eliminate
fabric slippage.
Each fabric slipcover is hand brushed.
Every plate warmer is hand assembled, tested and inspected.
Our electric cord is white and can be safely stored inside the slipcover
using the Velcro closures at the open end of the slipcover.
The Waterbridge Plate Warmer has a ten-year limited liability warranty.
Our heating pad is made of safety certified parts by Underwriters
Laboratories (UL) / Canadian Standards Association (CSA).
We have the largest selection of plate warmer patterns.
You do not have to worry about paying import duties as you would from other
countries
because we are based in Canada and qualify under NAFTA.
We can quickly process
and handle all inquiries.
The Waterbridge Plate Warmer covers a larger portion of a plate’s
surface area than other
type of plate warmers which are optimally designed for smaller plates.
Our
heating pad is well cushioned, very flexible and not encased in a rigid shell.
The
Waterbridge Plate Warmer performs better and lasts longer.
We are the leading
Plate Warmer manufacturer in North America and have been in
business for over 13 years.
Good question and one that is top of mind with Canadian consumers.
Our Internet retail price has been reduced by 25% over the past few years.
Prices are not on par with the US dollar as the exchange rate is constantly
in flux. Our raw materials were purchased with Canadian dollars that were
worth less than U.S. dollars.
We believe in fair market pricing.
"We are continuing to monitor our costs to deliver a fair market price
for the quality and performance of the Waterbridge Plate Warmer relative
to any other tabletop plate heating solution." Suzanne

We have been manufacturing the Waterbridge Plate Warmer since
1997.
We are passionate about the Waterbridge Plate Warmer and enjoy
talking to our customers.
Simply plug it in and starting from bottom (lower fold) gently put the plate
in between the protective fold. For more than one plate, repeat, putting the
remaining plate(s) in between the other fold(s). We suggest that you start using
the plate warmer when you begin preparing your meal.
How many plates can be heated
at one time?
The Waterbridge Plate Warmer holds up to 15 plates. Simply nest
the plates on top of each other in between the folds. For safety
reasons, we recommend no more than 3 plates be nested on top of
each other and placed in between each fold (5 folds x 3 plates
each = 15 plates).
How long does it take to heat up the plates?
It takes approximately 25 minutes to heat up 5 plates. The more plates, the longer
it takes to heat up. Temperatures will vary. We suggest that you start using
the plate warmer when you begin preparing your meal.
The arrived at temperature will vary depending upon the composition material
of the plates, number of plates being heated, time allowed to heat the plates
and outside room temperature. Within approximately 25 minutes plates will reach
a comfortable hot temperature of up to150 degrees Fahrenheit or 66 degrees Centigrade.
The more plates used, the longer it takes to heat up.
Four thermostats in the plate warmer control the heat so that it does not exceed
the stated temperatures. As heat resonates upwards through the plate and outwards
to the rim, the center of the plate is very hot yet the rim of the plate remains
comfortable enough to be picked up by hand. For safety reasons, we recommend
that oven mitts be used when handling plates above room temperature.
Return to top What size plates can be used with the Waterbridge
Plate Warmer?
The Waterbridge Plate Warmer is ideally suited to cover 11" (27 cm) plates
however it will heat wider plates i.e.: charger plates. With larger plates, more
of the outer circumference of the plate is exposed to room air therefore it will
take a little longer to heat up.
We recommend that the Waterbridge Plate Warmer only be used for heating plates.
Please be careful as these types of dishes are not stable in the plate warmer
and may take longer to heat up than plates.
Return to top What type of plates should not be used in the
Waterbridge Plate Warmer?
Do not heat plastic, paper, wooden plates, and damaged or wet plates. Please
refer to our operating and use & care instructions enclosed with each plate
warmer.
Return to top Where can the Waterbridge Plate Warmer be placed?
The plate warmer safely sits on any table or counter top surface.
We use high quality heavy weight 100% cotton fabric from F.W. Schumacher with
Waverly patterns, most of which are woven designs versus print patterns. Quality
is not substituted for cost.
Dry-clean only. Do not machine wash or dry the slipcover. The fabric slipcover
is designed to fit snuggly over the heating pad. Any shrinkage of the slipcover
will alter the fit and possible damage the appearance of the product.

Return to top What should I do with an older plate warmer
I have had for many years?
Good question. It's probably the same type of plate warmer that inspired us to
manufacture the Waterbridge Plate Warmer. In early 1950's, the heating pad element
was made in Brooklyn, New York and the heating wire inside these older heating
pads was wrapped with a light grade of asbestos ...not safe by today's standards.
We suggest that if you have an older plate warmer, it's time to make a change for
safety and performance.
